Sample Solution
Successful time management is the sense of maximizing one’s use of time to facilitate productivity, balance, and satisfaction. People tend to underestimate the amount of time required to complete projects (Gabriele et al., 2015). Upon utilizing my time management tool. I discovered that most of my time is spent running errand and working on things inside of home. I have recently taken on a new interest of painting and refurbishing old furniture pieces. This is an expected finding with my time management because I have initiated many ideas and have successfully executed a few.
Mental preparation is essential to achieving time management throughout the sessions to come. Having mental preparedness supersede all and positively places you forward. In mental contrasting, individuals first positively fantasize about a wished-for future and then imagine the present reality that holds them back from realizing the envisioned future (Gabriele et al., 2015). By imagining the future and subsequently mentally elaborating the reality, the future becomes closely associated with the reality, revealing that attaining the future demands acting on the current reality (Gabriele et al., 2015).
Moving forward I will assign myself one free day out of the week to indulge in my new hobby. Since painting and bring beauty to old things are quite therapeutic, I will not dismiss it. I will plan-ahead with my course learnings and attempt to read the materials for the upcoming week beforehand. Giving myself two hours out of the day to spend reading and going over modules to prepare for my obligated duties for the upcoming week.
As mentioned in the assigned reading there are many resources to ensure student success such as the instructor, meet and greets, and the student resources. The time management tool will be something that I utilize more because of the structure of set up. I am a visual learner, therefore I operate better when things are evident.
